Itamar Erez - guitarist, pianist and composer is a world musician in the best sense of the word. He saw the light of day in Israel, grew up in Tel Aviv, studied in Germany and England, he now lives in Canada. He studied classical guitar, likes playing the piano, flirting with flamenco, loves jazz, oriental sounds and Afro-Brazilian music. In 2018 you could experience him live at Carnegie Hall together with the Omar Faruk Tekbilek Ensemble. He recorded his new - purely instrumental - album with many musical companions. The percussive interludes by Tombak player Hamin Honari are very refreshing. On "Mi Alegria" Erez delivers a sparkling and glittering firework of guitars, which allows associations to the acoustic works of master guitarists such as Al di Meola or Paco de Lucia on the first track. Those who appreciate first-class - and excellently received - acoustic guitar magic (egg) should treat themselves to "Mi Alegria", that is virtuoso world jazz at it's best!
